چکیده

been widely researched as surface and deep soil treatment techniques (Figure 1). For certain practical situations, such as house foundations on expansive soil, mixing is not possible. Current research has shown that chemical treatment using a potential difference to transport chemical ions between bespoke electrodes can overcome such problems, whilst achieving the desired results. However, a major problem this technique has to overcome is metallic electrode corrosion, because this can cause ions detrimental to the reaction process to be introduced into the clay-water-stabiliser system. This study aims to explore the science, and thereby 'prove the concept' and establish the practical possibilities, of recreating the classical chemical modification and stabilisation reactions in situ using such a technique, while overcoming any problems caused by electrode degradation. Removal or Reducing Heavy Metal (lead) from Soil by Electrokinetic Process

The electrokinetic process is an emerging technology for in situ soil contamination, in which chemical species, both ionic and nonionic are transported to an electrode in soil. These products are subsequently removed from the ground via collection systems engineered for each specific application. Electro kinetics refers to movement of water, ions and charged particles relative to one another un...

عوامل موثر بر تشکیل و توزیع پالیگورسکایت در رسوبات ترشیاری اطراف شهرستان داراب استان فارس و خاک‌های شکل گرفته از آنها

Having specific properties, clay minerals including palygorskite have considerable influence on soil physico-chemical characteristics as well as the stage of soil development. The objectives of current study were to determine the distribution, origin and formation conditions of palygorskite in the Tertiary sediments and associated soils in Darab, Fars Province. Based on the field observations a...

Electrokinetically Enhanced Remediation of Hydrophobic Organic Compounds in Soils: A Review

Electrokinetically enhanced remediation is an innovative technology that has the potential to remediate hydrophobic organic compound (HOC) contamination in soils and groundwater. A surfactant/cosolvent is used to increase HOC desorption and solubilization, and an applied electric potential facilitates contaminant transport primarily by electroosmosis and/or electrophoresis. Electroosmotic flow ...

Electrokinetic Remediation Modeling Incorporating Geochemical Effects

Electrokinetic remediation technology is one of the developing technologies that offers great promise for the cleanup of soils contaminated with heavy metals. However, the performance of an electrokinetic remediation system depends on the interaction of a complex set of interrelated system variables and parameters. Many of these interactions were addressed in this study by incorporating geochem...

Enhanced electrokinetic removal of phenanthrene from clay soil by periodic electric potential application.

Electrokinetically enhanced in-situ flushing using surfactants has the potential to remove polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from low permeability clay soils; however, previous research has shown that the applied electric potential produces complex physical, chemical, and electrochemical changes within clay soils that affect mass transfer and overall efficiency. This article presents the ...
